MMW Guest Designer #1: Pamellia Johnson

Hi there!
Welcome back to the Mixed Media World!
I have a very special guest here today. When I say special I mean exceptionally talented artist and a crafter and a sweet friend of mine - Pamellia Johnson. See for yourself..
*****

Hello Everyone! My name is Pamellia Johnson and I live in Toronto, Ontario, Canada with my wonderful husband and our two little girls, Scully (a teacup Maltese) and Pebbles (a black teacup Pomeranian).
I have been crafting in some form or another ever since I was a little kid, thanks to my very creative and talented Mom. I've dabbled in all sorts of crafts, but I think my true passion is handmade cards. I have only recently tried my hand at mixed media art, but I instantly fell in love with the messy side of crafting!
I am so thrilled and honoured to be here today as the first guest designer for The Mixed Media World. I am so proud and happy to support my good friend Ingrid on this new leg of her crafty adventure. In honour of this fabulous event, I wanted to do something inspired by Ingrid's amazing work, so I have put together my very first mixed media canvas. I hope you enjoy.

Pamellia created a beautiful piece of art.. I would be so proud and honoured to put this up on my wall.. but I don't have it... Pam lives way too far from me and I can imagine it is already hanging up on her wall. It's gorgeous! What I do have are a few fabulous photos of her fabulous mixed media project and I'd like to share them with you today...

This is mixed media at its best. This is mixed media with a beautiful feminine touch. The gorgeous textured background with awesome colour scheme full of grunge yet softness and the heavenly touch of white all over. I'm sure you will agree that this is on outstanding work of art. I love everything about it and I am so very grateful for Pam's hard work and all effort put into this piece.

Thank you very much, Pamellia, for being a wonderful friend and for your input today. It means a world to me.

With respect and love,

Ingrid xxx

p.s.: I've got some big surprise for you again next week so stay tuned! This one's gonna knock your socks off! :)

Dear follower, I do hope this is not a massive shock to you. We would love if you stayed and join our challenges. Our blog has changed domain name so might not come up in your reader. If this is the case simply unfollow the blog and then join again. Easy!
Dear visitor, we would be honoured if you joined our lovely new blog and shared your mixed media
makes via our monthly challenges.

I'd like to take this opportunity and re-introduce our oh-so talented and awesome Design Team:

Hi my name is Amanda from Treasured Moments of Inspiration and I’m a craft addict!! I have been crafting for about 5 years having rediscovered my love of making a mess!! I am primarily a stamper and have a compulsive buying disorder that unfortunately nobody has been able to cure!! I love incorporating stamping into a variety of styles of projects from mixed media projects right through to Clean & Simple makes which means my craft doesn’t fit into one particular genre, I just go with the flow. I am currently getting more involved into fabric crafts but it’s early days yet but I love using my sewing machine within my projects. I am very fortunate to also design for the following, Fashionable Stamping ChallengesKatzelkraftand am currently GDT at That's Blogging Crafty for March and April.

Hello my name is Deborah but my friends call me Debs. I'm married to a lovely guy who supports my art although doesn't always get it. I have a grown up daughter and three gorgeous grandchildren.
I started my crafting journey In March 2013 although have always been creative. I have dabbled in knitting and crocheting, jewellery making and sewing and in my 20s played with painting in oils. All of which were fads and after a while put away, that was until recently. I stumbled onto stamping and my enthusiasm grew, with support from my Twitter and Facebook friends my confidence in-creased and now find myself trying all manner of crafty/ creative makes.
I would describe myself as a mixed media artist (amateur) I enjoy altering stuff, painting, drawing, stamping and will play with different mediums. My biggest challenge is to remove the critique in my head ( something with which I know many of us struggle) so that the process of creation is fun and not always about the end result.
In the real world I'm a psychotherapist working within children's mental health. I specialise in work-ing with children who for whatever reason are unable to live in their family home and are suffering from trauma or emotional difficulty. I often use the arts in my work especially where words are difficult.

My name is Donna and I love dabbling in all kinds of mixed media! I especially love to draw and carve my own stamps but I am at my happiest when I have something ultra messy on the go.

My current favourite people in the crafting world are Dina Wakley, Julie Fei Fan Balzar and Jane Davenport but I do love all types of work and styles and don’t believe in confining myself to one genre…..I cant, there’s too much lovely crafty stuff out there to try!

Hi there, my name is Ingrid Kristina V. I’m in my early 30’s and live in London with my Fiancé and our two little girls. I have always been a crafty soul and enjoy cardmaking, art journaling, creating fine or mixed media art and more, which I share regularly on my blog Ingrid's Crafts Corner. My cardmaking style is clean, simple and contemporary, with bold and bright features, as well as artsy, grungy and fun. My art could be described as grungy, textured, vintage, but I also like to play with colours and visual textures. I have an enormous passion for mixed media and love the creative freedom it gives me. I also love to experiment and often develop new techniques that I share with excitement with my blog buddies.
Winner of the UK national competition - The Card Designer 2014 - Simply Cards & Papercraft magazine & the Designer for the magazine.
Designer for GlitzCraft.
Owner of the Mixed Media World challenge blog.

My name is Laine and I have been crafting since the mid 1980's when I made my first scrapbook albums for my daughters. Little did I realize just how deep I would get into this creative world.
To this day my girls tell me I am a Craft-A-Holic but in my mind I am just PASSIONATE!! My style has continued to evolve but I am a "Jack of all genre's but a Master of none".
I am fairly new to the this mixed media world but this has been something I have wanted to try for a long time. I was just to scared to jump into what I call "the deep end". And now I am hooked.
I will be 60 soon and yet I love to sit at the kitchen table and color with my Copics and alter anything that isn't nailed down.

“So much to learn, so little time” has always been my crafting mantra. I enjoy a multitude of different crafting mediums, including (but not limited to) Rubber Stamping, Mixed Media, Needle Felting, Embellishing, Hand and Machine Embroidery, Sewing and hybrid crafting. I don't really do cute but I enjoy whimsical. My learning journey continues every time I breathe. I have been privileged to be on the DT for Speed Craft Challenge and now for Mixed Media World.

A special welcome to a very talented lady and our brand new teamie:

Helloooo!! My name is Georgie from the Little Blue Craft Box blog, I’m based in the quiet county of Dorset in the UK. Artistically, I am a lover of altered art, shabby chic, vintage grunge, art journalling, paper crafting… anything arty/crafty really, I love it all!!! My biggest love is mixed media within any of these forms.
Colours really entice me!!! From light and airy, to dark and gothic (and everything in between). I believe the way hues ebb and flow together is what really makes a project, and gives it that ‘wow factor’. I adore how colours are enhanced by mediums used beneath, around, or over them. The possibilities are beautifully endless…

Thank you for joining us, Georgie! A bit thank you to my wonderful teamies for being a part of the challenge blog, Love you all and can't wait to see more of your gorgeous makes.

Without any further ado, let's have some fun and announce our very fist MMW challenge:
